That custom application you spent weeks building for your business can now be accessed from the palm of your hand.
On December 4th, 2018, Quick Base announced their new mobile application. Users of Quick Base will now be able to access the applications they have created on the platform from any mobile device and it doesn’t require any special mobile development.
The update offers a crisper visual and touch-friendly experience for end-users. Some of the features present in the mobile application:
Why is this significant for developers?
In 2015, mobile web traffic and usage surpassed desktop traffic for the first time in history. Furthermore, almost 90% of mobile media time is spent using applications while the rest is on websites (Smart Insights, 2018). According to Google Consumer Insights, a vast majority of smartphone users are more likely to do business with companies that have mobile applications for their questions.
With the growing demand for mobile applications to be the solution to consumer pain points, IT departments and developers constantly face pressure to develop a mobile compatible solution in addition to a desktop product.
The development platform on Quick Base gives IT departments the ability to invest in building an application only one time and have it optimized for a mobile application without extra development effort. This saves companies significant amounts of time and money while simultaneously meeting the growing demand for mobile applications.
What does this mean for my organization?
Communication tends to be the number one bottleneck for businesses as they scale and work with bigger teams. A large part of today’s workforce that operates in the field (think construction, healthcare, logistics, etc.) need rapid access to reports and data. Everyone is constantly on the go and in a competitive marketplace, businesses are looking to automate as many processes as possible to optimize productivity.
A custom application that is built for one’s business can now be accessed securely by everyone in the office and in the field with real time updates. Without any additional resources spent building a separate mobile application, organizations can speed up communication within their team and empower them to make decisions using data on the field.
This is simply the first step for Quick Base as they continue to roll out more features and focus on enhancing the mobile experience for users.
The Quick Base mobile application can be found on both the App Store and Google Play.
